Objectives
By the end of the course, students should be able to:
- Understand the normative framework of international trade.
- Master the basics of international business law.
- Know the definition, criteria and legal regime of international contracts.
- Draft and negotiate international commercial contracts.
- Identify the main legal issues of international business.
Course outline
LEGAL GUIDE TO DOING BUSINESS INTERNATIONALLY
SESSION 1 – Introduction to law and international law. 19 May 2025 (09:00-12:30).
SESSION 2 – Knowing the legal framework of international trade. 19 May 2025 (13:30-17:30).
SESSION 3 – Understanding international business contracts and international disputes. 20 May 2025 (09:00-12:30).
SESSION 4 – Practising international business contracts. 20 May 2025 (13:30-17:30).
Personal work required for students
- There is no prerequisite.
- Each student must complete all online lessons individually.
- Students must actively participate in class.
Evaluation
- Continuous assessment: questionnaires at the end of each lesson (online and in class).
- Online assignments have a coefficient of 1; in-class assignments have a coefficient of 2.
- Oral participation in class: the final grade will be adjusted based on oral participation.
